Obituary for William (Bill) Sheldrake

After a courageous battle with cancer William Roy Sheldrake passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Saviour and loving arms of his late wife Elsie May Sheldrake (2015) with is family by his side on Monday December 14th, 2020 in his 90th year. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Theresa (late Gary) Moodie and their children Andrea (Paul) and late great grandson Lawrence Harold, Alicea (Tyler); son Bart and his children Sarah (Lorne) great granddaughter Isabelle; Kristina (Greg) and great granddaughter Charlotte, and Kyle; daughter Brenda; and son Brett (Pam) and their children Tyler (Courtney) and great granddaughters Cambrie and Blakely; Trevor, Travis (Erin) and Breanna. Loving brother to Francis Miller (late husband Keith), Ed Sheldrake (late wife Marilyn) and Louise Gowling. Predeceased by his brothers Fred, Charlie, Stan and sister Muriel. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Blake, nurses and PSW's for all their help and support. Family will receive friends at the Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville on Thursday December 17th and Friday December 18th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Those wishing to attend the visitation must RSVP through the funeral home website. Please arrive in the parking lot 10 minutes prior to the chosen visitation time and speak to a parking attendant. Masks are required at all times when in the funeral home. Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private family funeral will take place on Saturday December 19th. Following the service, the procession will pass by the Sheldrake family home on Highway 3. Those who wish to pay tribute to and honour Bill’s life are invited to park on the south side of Highway 3 with four-way flashers on by 2:00 pm to form an honour guard for the passing procession. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Highway Chapel or Dunnville Hospital and Healthcare Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
