Obituary for Stella Pyle (Hunter)

Peacefully at home in Dunnville, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, November 4, 2021, in her 89th year. Stella Pyle (nee Lockie) was the beloved wife of the late Grant Hunter (1999) and the late William Pyle (2014). Loving mother of Deb and John White, Diane and Vern Wagar, Caroline and Doug Hawkins and Catherine Hunter-Boudreau and Paul Boudreau. Proud grandmother of Carrie (Rob), Susan (Sheldon), Lisa (Devon), Nathan (Sophie), Joel and honoured great grandmother of Gordon, Thomas, Vivian, Ariella, Ruth, Jack and Elias. Sister of Ruby (Fred) Humfries, William Lockie and Norma (John Colquhoun) Huffman and sister-in-law of Rena Culp.

Stella served her family and community with care and love throughout her life. She was active in the Optimist Club, was an amazing cake decorator, quilter, knitter and crocheter. She enjoyed being a Beaver Leader and was a talented homemaker and provider.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church, at 114 Broad Street West, Dunnville, Ontario on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 1 pm. (Masks and physical distancing are required when in the church.) The service will be live-streamed from the funeral home website for those wishing to join the family in this way. Interment will be at Windecker Cemetery.
