It is with hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Sjoerd "George" at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville on Wednesday March 16, 2022 in his 93rd year. Back in the loving arms of his wife of 65 years, Grietje (Greta) Sierdsma. Beloved father of Marc (Kim), Walter (Carolyn), Martha (Ben) Plath, Ron (Sherry) and George (Sylvia). Pake of Melissa, Shane, Lindsay, Brandy, Jeremy, Adam, Laura, Dan, Anita, Chad, Haley, Jessica, Tyler, Megan, Jordan and Sydney and 21 great grandchildren. Brother of Jaap Sierdsma and Elly (John) DeJong. Brother-in-law of Sienne (Andy) Mink, Meine (Geeske) Schilstra, Zus Wesselius. George will be fondly remembered by his friend Vikki Thomson. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Molle Jacop and Anigje Sierdsma, grandson Andrew, great grandson Zachary, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Tine, Hilda, Jelle, Roelof, Diedert, Piet. Thank you to the Haldimand War Memorial Staff for their care and compassion for Dad during his time in their care.

The funeral service for George will be held at Maranatha Reformed Church, 42817 Highway 3, Wainfleet on Monday March 21 at 11 am.
