Sorge, Raymond Frederick- Born on November 13, 1932. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Ray on 23rd of June 2022 in his 90th year. Ray is happily reunited with the love of his life, Madeline Edith nee Carver (2014) and his children, Debra Lynn (1993) and Martin David Raymond Sorge (2004) as well as parents Carman and Ruby Sorge, brothers Munro, Bill, Jim and sisters-in-law Colleen, Gail, and Darlene. He will be missed by all who survive him, including his brothers, Lorne (Donna), David, Bob (Betty), sister-in-law Carole Sorge, and their families.
Ray lived his entire life in Dunnville. He was a hard worker. He began his employment with Atlas Steel (Welland) and then worked for many years in the food industry, including Carroll's in Dunnville, then Steinberg's, and finally at Miracle Mart in Grimsby. Early in his life, he developed a love of cars and was always so very proud of each new one he purchased, constantly washing and waxing them. He loved taking his family to Balm Beach each year for a holiday. He also enjoyed passing time with his friends at Dunnville Legion Branch 142. Over the course of his life, Ray took great joy in collecting watches, radios, and various "objets d'art."
As per Ray 's wishes, there will be no service or visitation to commemorate him. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred in Riverside Cemetery. A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held on Saturday July 16th at The Royal Canadian Legion, 305 Queen St., Dunnville from 2pm until 4pm.
