Obituary for Margaret Esther Best (Hill)

April 27, 1940 - January 2, 2023
In her 83rd year Margaret went peacefully home to be face to face with Jesus. After a long illness of Pulmonary Fibrosis. She is healthy, happy and whole. Margaret was born in Birmingham England, and immigrated to Canada as a young girl. She briefly returned to England, but returned. She met her husband while living in Stoney Creek. Paul and Margaret wanted to escape city life and moved to St.Anns with there young daughter, Margaret-Ann. Margaret -Ann later married James Houtby, who Paul and Margaret considered to be their son.
Margaret spent most of her working life serving the elderly through the Red Cross and Bethesda for the mentally handicapped. Margaret and Paul both enjoyed taking care of their grandchildren Kyle and Jaimie (Shawn Weibe. They also loved their dogs, every picture has one. We will miss mom, nana, Margaret. She was special to all of us. She will be very much missed by family in England also.
Family will receive friends at the Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville, Wednesday January 4th from 6-8. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday January 5th at 10:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. If so desired, donations to charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
