Peacefully at his home in Dunnville on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in his 93rd year. Lorne Sorge was the beloved husband of Donna (nee Shepherd) for almost 70 years. Loving father of Richard (Pamela) and Elaine (Mark) Robertson. Dear grandfather of Nicolas and Holly Sorge, Lisa (Danny) Albrecht and Michael (Sarah) Robertson. Brother and brother-in-law of Carole Sorge, David Sorge, Bob (Betty) Sorge, Doris Henderson and Jean Meadows. Predeceased by his brothers Munro (Colleen) Sorge, Raymond (Madeline) Sorge, Bill Sorge, Jim (Darlene) Sorge, his sister-in-law Gail Sorge and brothers-in-law Bill Henderson and Sheldon Meadows. Lorne was a long-time employee of the Dunnville Chronicle and was also the writer of the weekly column “Remember When”. Upon his retirement he worked at the Ballard Minor Funeral Home until he retired in early 2019 at the age of 88. Lorne was an active member of Grace United Church. The funeral service for Lorne will be held at Ballard Minor Funeral Home on Saturday, March 11 at 12 pm. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Dunnville.
