Condolences

Condolence From: Gladys Shoalts
Condolence: Miss Glaves came to our house in Upper Wainfleet to teach my son Gerry and my twin daughters Ann and Nancy how to play the piano in the early 60s. I can still remember the first tune she taught them from the Leila Fletcher Piano Course 1 book!

We are all thankful to her for the love of music she instilled in each of us and for her great patience in teaching three young children how to play the piano.

Sincere sympathy to the family

Condolence From: Brian Howell and Donna Howlett
Condolence: We both feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to know Marie as a friend, and to conduct worship services with her providing her heartfelt musical leadership. Marie's presence was joyful and her enthusiasm was contagious. Her ability to reach out to friend and stranger alike was second to none and her nurturing and caring ways touched and brought a sense of both celebration and peace to many hearts. We will always remember, with thanksgiving, her endearing smile and her toe tapping and hand clapping presence. Our prayers are with Jack and Pat and all who knew and loved her.

Condolence From: Diana Bujas, Retired Women Teachers of Ontario, Lincoln West Branch President
Condolence: Marie was a valued long time member of our Lincoln West Branch of the Retired Teachers of Ontario. She has been mentioned and remembered several times at our luncheon meetings with kind thoughts and memories. A personal memory of mine ... Early in my career Marie was an travelling music teacher. I had taught my Grade 3 class a song from memory from my Girl Guide days and Marie came to rehearse with us for an assembly presentation. Although my class sang with enthusiasm, apparantly my rendition wasn't totally accurate. In her kind and gracious way, Marie simply adjusted the music to suit the children's voices. No one knew any different and I still sing it 'incorrectly' today with her in mind.

We always had lots of fun and shared many experiences. She was an excellent teacher who encouraged and brought the love of music to many young people. Condolence: Our sympathy to the family of Marie. We met Marie a few years ago at the Sidway July 1st party. Although she was a second cousin to us, through our grandmothers, we had never met her until then and it was a delight to make her acquaintance. She clearly loved being surrounded by family.
