Obituary for Jake de Schiffart

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family after a courageous struggle against cancer, the Lord in His infinite wisdom called home His child Jake on Monday, September 5, 2022. Jake de Schiffart, beloved husband of Rachel (nee Hagen) of Dunnville in his 30th year. Loving father of Boaz †, Morgan, Reagan and Karter. Dear son of Edwin and Glenda (nee Westerveld) de Schiffart and son-in-law of Rob and Angela (nee Van Benthem) Hagen. Dear grandson of Ben and Alice Westerveld, Albert and Nelly Hagen. Predececeased by his grandparents Jake and Tina de Schiffart and Albert and Ann Van Benthem. Brother and brother-in-law of Alisha and Jake Ravensbergen, Tiffany and Tim Breukelman, Sherene and Tim Doek, Peter de Schiffart, Jordan and Teresa Hagen, Jonathan and Meghan Hagen and Dan Hagen and his fiance Alie Westerveld. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jake's love for Rachel and his children was abounding and it was his heart's desire that they too would love and serve the Lord. Visitation will be held at Grace Reformed Church, 514 George Street, Dunnville on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 2-4 and 6:30-8 pm. Following a private family graveside service of committal at Woodlawn Cemetery, Dunnvile, a memorial service will be held at Grace Reformed Church on Friday, September 9 at 11 am. If desired, donations to Heritage Christian School in Jordan, Ontario would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, Dunnville (905-774-7277).
