Obituary for Gerald James Moore

Gerald James Moore went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday June 9th, 2020 at the age of 77.
Gerald (Gerry) was born to John and Faye Moore on November 6, 1942 in Buffalo, New York, USA. As a child, he grew up on a farm in Wainfleet, Ontario, on Perry Road. There, he and his two brothers learned about faith, love, family and hard work. Gerry married the love of his life, Kathleen Sider, on July 6, 1963 and spent 51 wonderful years together. They went on to have two children, Jill and Jodie and built their own loving family. In addition to being a loving and devoted father, Gerry also lived life to the fullest enjoying classic cars, auto-racing, camping, travelling and gospel music. More importantly, throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God which he shared with those around him. His many years of service at the Open Arms Mission in Welland and the Wainfleet BIC Church will always be remembered.
Gerald joins his beloved wife Kathy, mother and father, John and Faye Moore; brothers, Donald and Arnold Moore and nephew Paul Moore in Heaven. He is survived by daughters Jill (Wayne) Sider and Jodie (Leighton) Bengert; grandchildren Drew (Ellyn) Sider, Dillon (Ashley) Sider, Quinn and Noelle Bengert; great grandchildren, Shane and Ian Sider and Nora-Jean Sider and many other family members and friends. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to hold a public service at this time, but please know the thoughts and prayers of our friends are very meaningful to us at this time. When restrictions are lifted, a public celebration of life and memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry's memory will be received by Open Arms Mission, 22 Fifth Street, Welland, Ontario, L3B 4Z3.
