Gerald James Moore went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday June 9th, 2020 at the age of 77.
Gerald (Gerry) was born to John and Faye Moore on November 6, 1942 in Buffalo, New York, USA. As a child, he grew up on a farm in Wainfleet, Ontario, on Perry Road. There, he and his two brothers learned about faith, love, family and hard work. Gerry married the love of his life, Kathleen Sider, on July 6, 1963 and spent 51 wonderful years together. They went on to have two children, Jill and Jodie and built their own loving family. In addition to being a loving and devoted father, Gerry also lived life to the fullest enjoying classic cars, auto-racing, camping, travelling and gospel music. More importantly, throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God which he shared with those around him. His many years of service at the Open Arms Mission in Welland and the Wainfleet BIC Church will always be remembered.
Gerald joins his beloved wife Kathy, mother and father, John and Faye Moore; brothers, Donald and Arnold Moore and nephew Paul Moore in Heaven. He is survived by daughters Jill (Wayne) Sider and Jodie (Leighton) Bengert; grandchildren Drew (Ellyn) Sider, Dillon (Ashley) Sider, Quinn and Noelle Bengert; great grandchildren, Shane and Ian Sider and Nora-Jean Sider and many other family members and friends. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to hold a public service at this time, but please know the thoughts and prayers of our friends are very meaningful to us at this time. When restrictions are lifted, a public celebration of life and memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerry's memory will be received by Open Arms Mission, 22 Fifth Street, Welland, Ontario, L3B 4Z3. We have only known Gerry for the past two years, since purchasing his family home in Wainfleet. He was a wonderful man and we are deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Our thoughts are with his family

Our sincere condolences to Jill, Jodie and families on the passing of your Dad. It was not long ago I had a lovely visit with him when I met him in Port one afternoon. Have lots of memories of your Mom and Dad and the fun times we all had at Winger staff parties.
Praying that your treasured memories will bring healing to you all.

Our hearts were saddened when we heard of the passing of Gerry. He was a wonderful man who was never too busy to stop and visit. We have many great memories of Letchworth and Christmases spent together gathered around his Christmas village. Know that you are all in our prayers.

Some of my fondest childhood memories have Gerry in them. Whether our families were camping together at Letchworth State park or seeing he and Kathy's smiles in the congregation as our singing group visited various churches to offer special music, his infectious laugh and warm, affirming hugs were reassuring and such a part of the joy he showed to all.
Praying for peace and joy-filled memories for all, of such a wonderful Father and friend Gerry was!
