Peacefully at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville the Lord took to Himself Gerald Bruulsema, beloved husband for 65 years of the late Susanna (nee Dieleman) (2019), on Sunday, February 12, 2023, in his 93rd year. Gerald was born in Dwingeloo, Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1947. Beloved father of Ann (George) Lunshof, Jo-Anne (Richard) Ogle and Betty (Adam) Roesch. Loving grandfather of Craig Lunshof, Doug (Elisha) Lunshof, Matthew (Vanessa) Lunshof, Amy (Jon) Wilson, Susanna Ogle, Robert Ogle, Janna Ogle, Shayleigh Roesch and Chris Roesch; and proud great grandfather of 11 great grandchildren. Cherished brother of Case (Jenny†) Bruulsema and Jane (Albert†) Lunshof. Brother in-law of Elizabeth (Herman†) Haak , Levinus (Margaret) Dieleman and Gerry (Laura) Prins (Corrie†). A special thank you to the staff at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion Dad received during his final days. The family will receive friends at BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville, on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 7 - 9 pm and at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 17 Robinson Road, Dunnville on Friday February 17, 2023 from 10 – 10:45am. The funeral service for Gerald will follow at Bethel Christian Reformed Church at 11 am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Dunnville.
