Obituary for Diana Lynn Wright

With sad and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diana Wright into the Lord's care from Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville, on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Diana Wright, beloved wife of Reverend Dennis Wright, in her 73rd year. Loving mother of Kurt (Jen) Smith and Alison (Sean Meikle) Smith. Proud grandmother of Benjamin and Sienna. Loving daughter of Esther M Treadway and the late Paul E. Treadway Sr. and loving sister of Paul (Janet), Richard (Joyce).
In keeping with Diana's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 115 St. Andrew's Road, Scarborough, Ontario and at First Baptist Church, 114 Broad Street East, Dunnville, Ontario on later dates. After careful consideration, and in light of the recent government directives which prohibit public gatherings of 50+ people, the family has decided to postpone the celebration of life until the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic becomes clearer. When scheduled, an announcement of dates and times will be made on the BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOME website. In leu of flowers please consider donations to the Dunnville Hospital and Healthcare Foundation, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Scarborough, and First Baptist Church, Dunnville. This would be appreciated by the family.
A special thank you goes to Dr. Kamouna, our family doctor, for his kind and compassionate care of Diana throughout her illness. The family would also like to thank the Hamilton Health Care Team at Juravinski Hospital that cared for Diana. Thanks to Drs. Tandan, Dhesy-Thind, and Craigie and all of the 2nd floor Cancer Clinic staff and nurses who helped Diana in her brave battle with cancer.
A special mention to the ER doctors and nurses at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital who looked after Diana. Also a big thank you to the Palliative Care Unit Team on the Third Floor: Katherine Stengel, Head Nurse, Charge Nurse Evelyn, Ward Clerk Lisa, and the great nurses (Derek, Alyssa, Teri, Raquel, and Tracie) who cared for Diana, keeping her comfortable and helping her keep her dignity in her last days before transitioning to her heavenly home.
